FIGHTING WITH THE POOR- Program to Latin America (Brazil, Belize or Ecuador)
In this program you have the chance to complete a B-certificate while working side-by-side with poverty stricken Latin Americans and Eastern Caribbean to create a better life.
START DATES: October 15, 2012 and April 15, 2013
DURATION: 18 months
PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
St. Vincent)- 6 months of in-depth study about the world today and the future, volunteering, Spanish/Portuguese language, farming and learning necessary skills for development work.
-- (Latin America) - 6 months of community service, fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with the poor on a Child Aid organization project.
St. Vincent)- 2 months of documenting what you learned through documentary film making, book and pamphlet writing, etc. You will also study further, farm and evaluate your Latin American stay.
Caribbean islands)- 2 months of teaching and volunteering to create awareness about what you have learned.
St. Vincent)- 2 months of final evaluations and preparations for your future.
The only demands are a high school degree and a decent knowledge of the English language, as it is the language you’ll use during the time at the school.
